Services

What the consultation covers

Six areas of care, from the annual check-up to pregnancy, each with the time it actually takes to talk it through.

Check-ups and prevention

A routine consultation covers the clinical examination, a cervical smear where indicated, breast examination and an ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries — with time set aside for anything you have noticed yourself. It is for women at every stage of life, including follow-up care after treatment for a gynaecological or breast cancer. Findings are explained in plain language, together with the reasoning behind each recommendation.

Pregnancy and obstetrics

Pregnancy care brings together the scheduled ultrasound examinations, laboratory tests, growth and wellbeing checks for your baby, and an ongoing conversation about how you are actually feeling. It also covers higher-risk pregnancies, a previous difficult birth or an existing chronic condition. Non-medical questions — sleep, work, anxiety, how you want the birth to go — get the same attention as clinical ones.

Contraception and young women

The contraception consultation compares the realistic options — pill, hormonal or copper IUD, implant, ring, hormone-free methods — against your health history and how you actually live. The young women's consultation is a calm first appointment that can stay a conversation, with no examination at all. The cycle, period pain, HPV vaccination and sexuality all have their place in it.

Fertility

Investigation starts with a detailed history, cycle monitoring, hormone tests and ultrasound, to build a clear picture of what is happening and what is not. It is for couples and individuals who have been trying for some time without success, or who want to understand their fertility before starting. Depending on the findings: cycle optimisation, ovulation induction, supportive acupuncture, or referral to a reproductive medicine centre.

Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause can bring hot flushes, disturbed sleep, mood changes, vaginal dryness and joint pain. Hormone therapy is discussed honestly — the current evidence, who benefits, who should avoid it — alongside non-hormonal options and phytotherapy. Treatment is adjusted to your symptoms and your priorities, not to your age on a chart.

Complementary medicine

Acupuncture, moxibustion, phytotherapy, orthomolecular medicine and neural therapy complement conventional gynaecological care — they never replace it. They are offered where there is a real reason: period pain, nausea in early pregnancy, breech presentation, birth preparation, hot flushes. An FMH specialist title and a complementary medicine qualification meet in the same consultation.

Before your visit

No referral is needed for a gynaecological consultation — but check with your insurer first if you have a family-doctor or Telmed model. Consultations are billed under Swiss basic insurance (KVG/TARMED); some complementary treatments fall under supplementary insurance. Please bring your insurance card, ID, any previous findings, your current medication list and the date of your last period. Allow around 45 minutes for a first consultation and 20 to 30 minutes for a follow-up, and let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you cannot come.
